Bear Trap

Mountain tour through the “Bärenfalle” bear trap

A somewhat longer, but scenically extremely beautiful circular hike is the one from Weißlahnbad through the Bärenloch to the Schlern/Sciliar and back through the “Bärenfalle” bear trap. The hike takes you through the Tschamin valley towards the Schlern/Sciliar and then makes a wide arc around the St. Cassian Chapel. The “Bärenfalle” bear trap is, as the name suggests, a steep, sloping ravine, and should only be attempted by those sure of foot and without a fear of heights.
