The small village of Völs am Schlern/ Fiè allo Sciliar...

... has a close connection to the tradition and culture of the Dolomite region of the Seiser Alm/Aple di Siusi. Hotel Gfell is surrounded by castles, palaces, places of worship and other century old buildings and various village festivals take place throughout the year.

Don’t miss a visit to the baroque castle of Prösels (within walking distance from our hotel) which was built around 1200 by the Lords of Völs/Fiè, the noble servants of the Brixen/Bressanone Bishops. Take a guided tour or attend one of the numerous concerts in the castle courtyard, on the castle lawn or in the knights' hall in summer for a very special experience.

There’s always something to do in Völs...

Other sights in the area include St. Katreiner Church, the Salegg and Hauenstein ruins, which are closely linked to the life of Oswald von Wolkenstein (the namesake of the annual Oswald von Wolkenstein horse race in June), the “Bauernmuseum” (farm museum) in Tschötscherhof, the “Michaelskapelle” (chapel) and the church of St. Valentin.

There’s always something to do in Völs...

There is always something exciting happening in the villages of Völs am Schlern/Fiè allo Sciliar, Seis am Schlern, Kastelruth, Tiers am Rosengarten and - last but not least - the largest alpine pasture, Seiser Alm/Aple di Siusi.  A variety of activities, festivals and other events year round make your holiday at any time of year a memorable one.

Anyone who retains the ability to recognise beauty will never grow old.

Local & regional

Homemade products, a fine selection of wines and homemade ice cream - sometimes that's all you need. Breath-taking sunsets on the panorama terrace complete the (pleasure) experience.

The Gfell blends almost seamlessly into its natural surroundings.
Nature up close

The entire complex was built into the hillside, blending into its natural setting. The façade is made of earth tones similar to those of the meadows and forests surrounding it and the shape follows that of the rocks around which it has been built.

Our mountain inn is a place with more-(generational) value.
Restaurant

The restaurant "Schönblick" has offered alpine cuisine for over 40 years. Now located in the new building, it can spoil both locals and hotel guests.

Culinary pleasure for couples: an unbeatable combination.
